Robynblair’s New Gumball Machine Sculptures Turn Nostalgia Into Collectible Art

Nostalgia, maximalism and all things joyful are trends that are happening in the inner world right now. And it’s no surprise, after years of uncertainty and stress, that many are looking to inject a dose of happiness and brighter days into their homes. Luckily, the playful and uplifting art trend of 2022 makes that easy, especially with the launch of the new limited edition collection of gumball machine sculptures by robynblair on December 9th.

The drop comes from candy artist Robyn Blair Davidson, an it girl from the art world whose work depicts cheeky displays of all things sweet. For this last line, it is no different. Davidson’s most recent designs, which mark robynblair’s first sculpture collection, feature the glass silhouettes of classic gumball machines. Each piece is also filled with monochromatic gumballs, ensuring its unmistakable candy theme is front and center. Additionally, the sculptures have robynblair’s signature “In Case of Emergency” typography front and center.

The light collection aims to turn “precious childhood memories into collectible works of art,” and it succeeds – the sculptures are a perfect marriage of retro vibes and sleek, modern design. That said, you won’t find any of the 25 cent prices of the past on these coins. Sculptures range from $1,200 per piece to $6,500 for the full collection of six.

That said, you get quite a statement when you buy one of these limited edition pieces. Whether you place it on your desk, use it to reserve your favorite reads, or give it a display of its own (which, let’s face it, would look super cool paired with neon lights), it’s definitely a subject of conversation.

All six colors (and the full set) are available to buy now on robynblair’s site, but if we had to guess, we’d say they won’t be around for long. Continue on to take a look at the new sculptures, then head over to the artist’s site for a full preview (and to snag your own) before it’s all gone.
