Sony released a two-and-a-half-minute scene from the upcoming Unexplored film adaptation, and at first glance, the film will remain close to games. Unexplored stars Tom holland as treasure hunter Nathan Drake and will serve as a prequel to major video game franchises.
Although Unexplored introduces a whole new story, the new scene shows how the film draws directly from the games. In the scene, Nate battles armed henchmen in a moving cargo plane. During the battle, Nat drops the cargo in the back of the plane to distract his enemies, but unfortunately ends up being trapped by a game. With the cargo suspended from the plane by a rope, Nate must climb aboard, pushing back the wind and the fear of falling into a very messy death.
As well as giving an exciting taste of what to expect from action lovers, the Unexplored scene also recycles a classic video game moment from 2011 Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Nate must also return to a moving plane in the game after falling with cargo. The scene also gives us another look at Nate’s mentor, Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg), and Tati Gabrielle (the The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) like Braddock, one of the villains that Nate must defeat in the film.
the Unexplored is one of the most successful video game franchises in the world. Created by Amy hennig for Naughty Dog, the series has sold over 40 million copies worldwide. The film adaptation is produced by Ruben Fleischer (the land of zombies), from a script of Rafe Lee Judkins and Art Marcum & Matt Hollowa. Unexplored also stars Antonio Banderas as the main antagonist and Sophie ali as young Chloe Frazer, a fan favorite character of the video game franchise.
Unexplored hits theaters on February 18. Check out the new scene below.
