With nine internationally acclaimed female street performers at the top of the global game, here and outside go running from March 26 to April 22, and show off their incredible creative talents, inspired by artists’ COVID-19 experiences.
here and outside reinvents street art by combining it with digital creations to offer a new visual experience that will enrich our visual and public arts scene. This makes international art accessible in public spaces at a time when one cannot travel.
here and outside will inspire the audience with exposure to the best female artists from Aotearoa and international, through a series of lectures, workshops, an art exhibition and public performances.
The program includes live murals and a digital mural exhibition, a dynamic exhibition (replicated online) and a waterfront promenade of larger than life puppets Le Chat Andin (5m) and Les Grandes Filles, supported by the Latino group Ollin Yoliztli dancers and musicians.
Street art has grown exponentially through the many outstanding murals painted around the world, festivals, and photographic and video documentation, as well as rapid online sharing. Subsequently, a huge physical-digital contemporary art movement around the world is constantly and rapidly expanding.
