FC Barcelona presents an innovative, yet simple and elegant kit for the 2022/23 season, inspired by the Barcelona Olympics the year the city celebrates the 30th anniversary of the transformation. The new jersey recalls the historic event and is presented today, Friday June 3, under the slogan “The Flame Continues”. Its design evokes the spirit of this period of regeneration and redefinition, a time when Barcelona opened up to the world and the world opened up to Barcelona.

30 years ago, the city took a big leap forward in modernity by welcoming the Olympic Games, while retaining its spirit and its roots. As the current era is also one of those major changes for the first team, the club decided to tap into that Olympic spirit and share it at a time when their efforts are very forward looking.

The shirt also features the logo of the Club’s main partner, Spotify, on the front for the first time, as well as a message of solidarity in favor of refugees with the UNHCR/ACNUR logo under the number on the back.

The new jersey is exclusively available for purchase for a period of five days beginning Friday, June 3 from Barça Stores at Camp Nou, Passeig de Gràcia, La Roca Village and Barcelona Airport T1 and T2, as well as on the club’s online store. It will be distributed in all the usual points of sale from June 8.

The new kit players will wear on the pitch and replica jerseys for fans are built with 100% recycled polyester fabricmade from recycled plastic bottles.

A design that evokes the brightness of the city

The Olympic Games brought social and cultural change for all the inhabitants of Barcelona, as well as urban development. The creation of the Port Olímpic and the remodeling of the current Vila Olímpica connected the city to the sea. Barcelona also acquired new infrastructures and facilities that have become emblematic monuments, such as the Palau Sant Jordi, the Torre de Collserola de Norman Foster and the Montjuïc Communications Tower by Santiago Calatrava. At the same time, new green spaces and urban networks have been opened. The Olympic spirit flooded the streets of the city with a sense of pride that endures to this day.

The design of home strip evokes the new light introduced in the city of Barcelona with the creation of new spaces and above all new connections to the sea, an idea that translates into the different colored stripes of the shirt, where red alternates with two different shades of blue, one navy and the other lighter . The same navy blue also features on the collar, sleeves, shorts and socks.

The kit launch campaign is also designed to reflect the spirit of Barcelona ’92, where the different graphic elements include typography similar to that used at the time, and include the different messages that were used in posters 30 years ago in four different languages, namely Catalan, Spanish, L English and French.

Spotify debuts on the front and UNHCR/ACNUR on the back

One of the most striking new features of the 2022/23 kit is the presence of the new main partner. For the first time, men’s and women’s shirts will have the Spotify name on the front, with the Nike swoosh, both in a sesame tone. The club also changed the logo of the UN agency on the back of the men’s and women’s shirts, as well as that of the Barça Foundation team playing in Liga Genuine, now UNHCR/ACNUR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), of the same color. In the case of the other four professional sports teams (basketball, handball, roller hockey and futsal), the sponsor will remain Assistència Sanitària.

On the occasion of the launch, FC Barcelona also unveils a new action involving all supporters who buy the home shirt at the Barça Store or on the club’s e-commerce points of sale between June 3 and 30. They will all be entered into a raffle to win a lifetime supply of shirts.
