Chaotic Elden Ring Clip Shows How Unpredictable Gaming Can Be

A new Elden Ring gameplay clip from FromSoftware shows an unfortunate scenario where things don’t go as planned.

Since the release of Ring of Eldenthe new title of souls and transmitted by blood FromSoftware creators, gamers shared their experiences with the game, both great and not so great. Since the initial announcement of Ring of Elden at E3 2019, the game had been highly anticipated by fans for a new experience from the developer.

Ring of Elden follows the story of the Terni, exiles from the realm known as the Land Between, who are called upon to search for the Great Runes, scattered fragments of an ancient relic known as the Elden Ring, which held power over the Earth. Much of the game’s world-building was written in collaboration with George RR Martin, the author of A song of ice and firewho has since praised the game and how FromSoft was able to translate their work into the final product.

A staple of many games in FromSoft’s library is the exceptional difficulty found in each title. games like Demonic Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice are infamous for having boss encounters that test a player’s abilities to the max. Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Ring of Eldenexplained how the game is trying to change that perception, but clips such as the following show that things can still get pretty rough very quickly.

On the Ring of Elden subreddit user madnessnewb featured a snippet of their encounter on a castle wall with one of the various ghostly enemies that Ring of Elden has to offer. The encounter seemed to be fairly straightforward, as they dispatched them with ease, but the success knocked them from the castle wall to the ground. And as if that wasn’t enough, they were then quickly swarmed by other opponents, which quickly culminated in the classic “You Died” screen.

It’s certainly a chaotic display that shows how constantly players need to be on their toes for any specific encounter throughout the game. The user seems to take the loss in stride, unlike other players such as Dr Disrespect or HasanAbi who gave up rage Ring of Elden and the several difficult encounters with the enemy thrown in their way.

Despite the difficulty of the game, it did not stop Ring of Elden to receive rave reviews across the board for its stunning world and art design, and overall game improvement over FromSoft’s typical game formula. While some may still point out the painful experiences with the game’s many enemies, it will still create fun memories that players will remember for a while.

Ring of Elden is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S
