Halloween Queen.
The one and only… Elvira.
The woman behind the horror icon is actress Cassandra Peterson.
His recent thesis, Cruelly yours, Elvira, is now a New York Times Bestseller.
Today, Peterson joins us with stories from his life and career – from meeting Elvis to meeting Jimi Hendrix, and his thoughts on being an icon in the LGBTQ community.
Next, Dana Gould talks about her love of horror, her friendship with 1950s horror host Vampira, played by the late Maila Nurmi, and creating a graphic novel adaptation, Visionaries of the Planet of the Apes, from the original script by Rod Serling.
In a surprising horror-aware moment, Gould also immediately answered Listener Robert’s 40-year-old movie mystery with the film. Quatermass and the pit.
His new film, Joy Ride, is a documentary starring longtime friend and fellow comedian, Bobcat Goldthwait.
