1. Bloom repaint

FRIDAY AT 10 AM | W.WASHINGTON ST. BETWEEN S. 9E & S.10E

The street light mural in the Walker Square neighborhood, created by local artists Katie Avila and Whitney Salgado of LUNA (Latinas Organizadas eN las Artes), gets a facelift. Drop by, grab a brush and help brighten up the busy street of the Washington Corridor.

2. MKE Night Gallery

FRIDAY AT 5 PM AND SATURDAY AT 10 AM | VARIOUS PLACES

The Night of the Galleries is back! Visit galleries in the Third Ward, Easttown and Walker’s Point to experience the city’s creative culture. Each location will feature exhibits by local artists and you will have the opportunity to purchase original MKE artwork.

3. Exhibition “Forever in a day”

OPENS FRIDAY | MARN ART + CULTURE HUB

Opening at Gallery Night MKE this weekend, this exhibition chronicles the photographic career of Milwaukee artist Rakim Wil. This collection features portraits often shot on location in downtown Milwaukee, highlighting the African diaspora and Wil’s unique style. Grab a drink, stay for the exhibition, and explore the MARN market during your visit.

4. Bark After Dark

FRIDAY AT 5 PM | THE AMP AT KONKEL PARK

Spend an evening with your four-legged friend at this dog-friendly festival. It’s the first year of Bark After Dark, where you can shop at animal vendors and listen to live music, then head to the AMP Haus to pick up a drink and a puptini for your plus-one .

5. MKE Air and Water Show

SATURDAY-SUNDAY | MCKINLEY PARK

For the 11e year, Milwaukee honors members of our armed forces and veterans in one of the best air shows in the United States with the MKE Air & Water Show. Enjoy the thrill of lakeside aerial and water acrobatics by civilian and military performers, including the Blue Angels.

6. Granville Blues Festival

SATURDAY-SUNDAY AT NOON | GRANVILLE CONNECTION PARKING

Sixteen artists will be on stage this year at the Granville Blues Fest. Bring your chairs and listen to live music under the main tent. Artists come from all over the Midwest for this groovin’ event.

7. Celebrating Arab American Culture and Heritage

SATURDAY AT 11 AM | MILWAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY MITCHELL STREET BRANCH

Celebrate Arab-American culture at this fun and informative mini festival hosted by the Milwaukee Public Library. Sit down for a bilingual story hour, listen to Arabic music and watch a fashion show of traditional clothing. Learn about Arabic calligraphy and participate in button making while enjoying the food and ice cream vendors.

8. Milwaukee Food Truck Party

SATURDAY AT 11 AM | HENRY MAIER FESTIVAL PARK

Head to the biggest gathering of the best food on wheels. This year, Food Truck Fest will have 20 food trucks lined up to serve you everything from fried to fresh. Drinks will also be available for purchase on site. Tickets can be purchased online.

9. MKE STEAM Festival

SATURDAY AT NOON | KING’S PARK

The concepts of science are everywhere! Learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and math at this festival. Here you’ll find a Bike Giveaway, Tesla Model X Demo, Oobleck Pool Race, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Bike Rodeo and more. Learn and have fun at the same time.

10. Botanicals and Bikes

SATURDAY AT 1 PM | MENOMONEE VALLEY URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER

Get out and take a ride to the Mitchell Park domes. Identify plants along the way and visit three different biomes in the veranda. Botanical infused water, entrance to the Domes and bike rental are all included! Find more information and register here.

11. ZOOperstars

SATURDAY AT 6 PM | FRANKLIN FIELD

Watch the Milwaukee Milkmen take on the explorers of Sioux City as this cast of inflatable characters put on a hilarious and one-of-a-kind spectacle. Watch the chaos ensue, and you might even find yourself in the middle of it all! End the evening with a post-game fireworks display.

12. Waffle Party

SUNDAY AT 9 AM | CROSSROADS COLLECTIVE

What better than a Waffle Party for brunch? Press Waffles burst into the Crossroads Collective to serve up authentic Liège Belgian waffles made with local artisanal brioche dough. Try their signature waffle with fresh peaches and cottage cheese, be adventurous and enjoy a savory waffle or stick with the sweet and simple classic.

13. Sherman Phoenix Porch Series

SUNDAY FROM 3 TO 6 PM | 3536 W. BOTTOM OF LAKE AV.

It’s the first week of the Front Porch series at Sherman Phoenix, with vendors, food and live music from Vogue Rebel in their outdoor space. The series runs monthly, so if you can’t attend this weekend, you can stop by next time on August 14.
